Sie bieten hier auf ein sommerliches Ölgemälde aus der Hand des niederländischen Malers Louis Soonius.
Zwei Kinder sind im Vordergrund mit ihrem Spiel im Sand beschäftigt. Bewacht von einer Dame in einem nahen Strandkorb, graben und sieben die Mädchen in ihren weißen Kleidern den Sand.
Das fast quadratische Bild entstand wohl in einem der belebten Strandbäder in der Nähe von Den Haag, zwischen Scheveningen und Katwijk. An einem hellen Sommertag sehen wir in der Tiefe der Landschaft zahlreiche Badegäste am blauen Wasser. Ein einzelnes Segelboot steht am Horizont unter dem luftigen Himmel.
Soonius wählt helle Farbtöne, setzt breite und dynamischen Pinselstrichen in impressionistischer Malerweise. Das lebendige Strichbild vermittelt auf wundervolle Weise die frische, luftige und bewegte Landschaft am Meer.

Lodewijk (Louis) Soonius wurde 1883 in Den Haag, Niederlande, geboren und verstarb 1956 am selben Ort.
Soonius begann im Alter von 17 Jahren mit dem Zeichnen und begann 1900 als Maler bei der Keramikmanufaktur Rozenburg. Um 1905 begann er, Unterricht an der Königlichen Kunstakademie in Den Haag zu nehmen.
Im Jahr 1913 erhielt Soonius das königliche Stipendium für freie Malerei, das es ihm ermöglichte, sich ganz der Malerei zu widmen und seine Tätigkeit in der Rozenburg aufzugeben.
Nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg schloss sich Soonius dem Haagschen Schetsclub an, wo er vor allem Aktbilder ausstellte und dadurch mehr Bekanntheit erlangte. Er kam in Kontakt mit mehreren Kunsthändlern, die sie auf seine Arbeiten aufmerksam machten.
Beliebt und weit bekannt wurde der Maler für seine sonnigen Strandbilder, die Badegäste und spielende Kinder in den nahen Strandbädern von Scheveningen und Katwijk zeigen.
Der Maler wird dem niederländischen Impressionisumus zugerechnet. Er hatte mehrere Ausstellungen und seine Werke wurden von wichtigen Sammlungen angekauft. Er war Mitglied der Kunstgesellschaft seiner Heimatstadt Den Haag, dem Haagsche Kunstkring.

You are bidding on a summery oil painting by the Dutch painter Louis Soonius.
Two children are busy playing in the sand in the foreground. Watched over by a lady in a nearby beach chair, the girls in their white dresses are digging and sifting the sand.
This almost square picture was probably taken at one of the lively lidos near The Hague, between Scheveningen and Katwijk. On a bright summer's day, we see numerous bathers on the blue water in the depths of the landscape. A single sailing boat stands on the horizon under the breezy sky.
Soonius chooses light shades of colour, applying broad and dynamic brushstrokes in an impressionistic manner. The lively line painting wonderfully conveys the fresh, airy and moving landscape by the sea.
This unique work is one of the artist's most sought-after subjects. A special opportunity for all lovers of Impressionism and Holland!

Lodewijk (Louis) Soonius was born in The Hague, the Netherlands, in 1883 and died there in 1956.
Soonius began drawing at the age of 17 and started working as a painter at the Rozenburg ceramics factory in 1900. Around 1905, he began taking lessons at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
In 1913, Soonius received the Royal Scholarship for Free Painting, which enabled him to devote himself entirely to painting and give up his work at Rozenburg.
After the First World War, Soonius joined the Haagsche Schetsclub, where he mainly exhibited nudes and became better known as a result. He came into contact with several art dealers who drew their attention to his work.
The painter became popular and widely known for his sunny beach paintings depicting bathers and children playing in the nearby beach resorts of Scheveningen and Katwijk.
The painter is categorised as a Dutch Impressionist. He had several exhibitions and his works were purchased by important collections. He was a member of the art society of his home city of The Hague, the Haagsche Kunstkring.

Lodewijk (Louis) Soonius est né à La Haye, aux Pays-Bas, en 1883 et y est mort en 1956.
Soonius commence à dessiner à l'âge de 17 ans et travaille comme peintre à l'usine de céramique de Rozenburg en 1900. Vers 1905, il commence à suivre des cours à l'Académie royale des arts de La Haye.
En 1913, Soonius reçoit la bourse royale pour la peinture libre, ce qui lui permet de se consacrer entièrement à la peinture et d'abandonner son travail à Rozenburg.
Après la Première Guerre mondiale, Soonius rejoint le Haagsche Schetsclub, où il expose principalement des nus, ce qui lui permet de se faire connaître. Il entre en contact avec plusieurs marchands d'art qui attirent leur attention sur son travail.
Le peintre est devenu populaire et largement connu pour ses peintures de plages ensoleillées représentant des baigneurs et des enfants jouant dans les stations balnéaires voisines de Scheveningen et Katwijk.
Le peintre est considéré comme un impressionniste néerlandais. Il a organisé plusieurs expositions et ses œuvres ont été achetées par d'importantes collections. Il était membre de la société artistique de sa ville natale de La Haye, le Haagsche Kunstkring.
