Up for sale is a lot of 24 Classics Illustrated Comics, published by Gilberton NY between September 1948 and Fall 1968. They are in poor to good/very good condition and should be all considered as readers. Of the 24 books, 8 are 1st editions and one is a rare store give-away.

The scans are of the books you will receive. I never use stock scans. Due to eBay limitations regarding the number of scans, I’ve provided scans of the lot as well as some of the individual front covers.

Each title is listed below along with its respective edition and HR number. Their grading as poor/good may include detached and/or split covers, paper loss to covers, detached center wraps, detached interior pages, stains, cut-out reorder forms, cover tears, tape repairs, etc. The lot includes:

If you’re looking for a lot of comics all graded very good or better, do not bid on this auction. This lot includes a mixture of readers. Their general condition is G/G+/VG, with a few P. At an average opening price of less than 10¢ USD a comic, this is a unique opportunity to secure an interesting lot of Classics Illustrated Comics.

Standard shipping (insurance and tracking are included) is to the United States and Canada only. The books are bagged but not boarded (to save shipping costs) and carefully packaged to avoid damage in shipping. The books will be shipped within 48 hours of receipt of payment (weekends not included). Note that shipping costs are estimated. Any overpayment will be refunded. If the shipping estimate is lower than the actual cost, I will pay the difference.

A note to first time buyers, buyers with multiple negative reviews or buyers with less than 10 positive reviews: Over the past several months, I've had to cancel orders due to non-payment. This is always an unpleasant experience for both parties. Before bidding, understand that you have an obligation to pay for the item if, at auction's end, you are the highest bidder and therefore the winner. Make sure you read the description, check the scans and verify the cost of shipping from Canada. My obligation as a seller is to adequately describe and scan the item I'm offering, package it carefully and ship it promptly. It works well if we all behave. Thanks.

You may have noticed that most of my listings contain scans of the front and back covers as well as a complete description of the comic I’m auctioning or selling. My listings also precisely identify the comic by issue number and edition number and when appropriate, provide some specific information about the comic itself. My descriptions point out the positives and the negatives. Providing this level of information is time consuming work, but I believe every buyer is entitled to have full disclosure of the condition of the comic before committing to bid or to buy.

None of the comics I sell are returned because buyers are fully informed of the condition of the comic before they commit. Buyers trust my listings and appreciate the care in which the comics are packaged for mailing. Many buyers are repeat customers because they know they are getting value for their money.

When I’m buying, I find it annoying when listings don’t properly identify the comic by edition number, when stock scans are provided instead of scans of the actual comic, when scans of both the front and back covers are not provided and when no description of the comic is available. Most annoying is when sellers offer comics at ridiculously high starting prices and then send offers to purchase the overpriced comic for a modest discount.

If you’re a first-time buyer of my comics, please know that you can buy with confidence, not just the first time but every time. And to my repeat customers, please know that I very much appreciate the trust you have placed in me. I will always do my very best to provide good value and excellent service.

Please contact me if you have any questions concerning this particular comic. Good luck!!
