RARE - c. 1910’s Still Cast Iron Coin Bank - M&L JARMULOWSKY BUILDING BANK - 165 East Broadway New York City - a very desirable and beautiful building shaped bank in excellent condition for it’s very fragile nature - still has great definition, looks like some evidence of the original yellow/gold paint - wonderful patina throughout - only small damage is one of the top center finials has broken off, but, based on the fragility of the top castings, this is actually a minor issue - others seen on the internet have much more damage; this is actually the nicest looking I’ve seen - and it has the original bottom door piece, which is often missing - a very rare bank, especially in nice shape, there’s one that sold on a auction website for $1500 that is in much worse condition, with among other things, a large chipped piece out of one side, rust & more damage to the smaller top castings - please examine all the jpegs and you’ll see the wonderful condition this example is in - will be shipped double boxed insured with signature confirmation - no international shipping. The Jarmulowsky bank was only around for a few years; it failed in 1914, two years after the founder died, as depositors withdrew funds to send back to Europe. Such a beautiful bank and design, looks like all those famed 19th - early 20th C cast iron fronted buildings in NYC.
