Beautiful Timeless Edwardian Art Deco period design English silver photograph frame,  the silver is of the finest quality.   The hallmarks are Leopards Head Mark - London Assay Office Rare Britannia Mark  - Only for finest silver items 999 Numerical Mark  - Highest purity silver 99.9% Makers Mark:  PVF Date letter Mark The silver is smoothly embossed in a typically understated style and shape of the era  with no decoration whatsoever.  The frame has a polished wooden back and strut enabling portrait photographs to be displayed,  complete with a genuine moire watered silk lining.  Often little or no regard is paid to the quality of the back supporting the silver,  however some makers use cardboard backs covered by velvet  which looks presentable at first but silver polish and velvet do not mix  and over time the back will perish and look tatty,  soon after the silver will be reduced to its scrap value. The finest purity unalloyed 999 silver has a depth of colour  not found on lower grade 925 silver items. Brand new it has never been used so no dings, dents or scratches,  a beautiful quality item.
