You are bidding on one curious correspondence (1963-1967) between one Amateur meteorologists and scientific institutes.

The private scholar (private meteorologist) Egon S. from Graz worked professionally as a mechanic and, over years of private research, put forward a theory of how storms can be predicted for years to come (!) by taking the sun, moon and planets into account and also the weather longer time. With the results of his research, in which no one else was involved, he turned to research institutes, ministries, the press and publishers, but without success. However, there was an exchange of letters with some researchers and politicians; The Graz daily newspaper “Süd-Ost-Tagespost” even published some of his articles in 1968.

The letters from amateur meteorologist Egon S. from Graz (name censored in the photos) are available as a typescript copy.

Available:

1.) Letter fromInstitute for Meteorology and Geophysics at the Free University of Berlin to Egon S., dated Berlin, 27. March 1963, signed on behalf of Manfred Geb. Enclosed is the original envelope and the corresponding request from Egon S. (Graz, 20. March 1963) as a carbon copy.

2.) Letter from German Weather Service to Egon S., dated Offenbach, 6. December 1967. Signature illegible. Attached is the corresponding request from Egon S. (Graz, 5. September 1967) as well as his 2-page answer (Graz, 10. December 1967), in which he mentions contacts with the Federal Minister Karl Schleinzer (for whom he made an accurate forecast) and the meteorologist Ferdinand Steinhauser, from whom he was "invited for detailed information in the second week of January 1968." In a "supplement to my letter of 10. Dec. 1967" Egon S. makes a forecast about weather developments in Europe.

Enclosed is also an earlier, unfortunately incomplete letter from Egon S. to the German Weather Service (only the first page is available), dated Graz, 11. January 1965.

3.) Letter from German Lufthansa, Department of Meteorology, to Egon S., dated Frankfurt am Main, 25. March 1965.

Enclosed is a 5-page elaboration (typescript carbon copy, originally signed) by Egon S.: "From our own research. Findings about the direct movement and direction control of the Earth's atmosphere by the Moon."

4.) Letter from Egon S. to the Rectorate of the University of Vienna, dated Graz, 1. October 1963. "The knowledge gained means a reform of meteorology, from elementary school textbooks to university literature." Without answer.

5.) Two moreTreatises by Egon S. (Typescript copy): "Sun, moon and planets move and control the earth's atmosphere" (9 pages) and "Findings about the direct influence of the moon on the movement and directional control of the earth's atmosphere" (3 pages).

Condition: paper partly browned and stained; the letter from Lufthansa is strong. bplease note the pictures too!
