Babe Ruth is largely credited with starting MLB autograph collecting, as his willingness to sign for fans back in the 1920s and 1930s started a tradition among big league ballplayers that persists to this day. This BOB FELLER HOF 62 CLEVELAND INDIANS AUTOGRAPHED & FRAMED PHOTO is in very good condition, with a small surface tear and spot of blackening at the middle left front edge, though it remains hidden when framed, some light fading to the signature, some light brownish spotting within the image, and with some light overall age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the photo is in fine shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it bears an elegant "Bob Feller" autograph and "HOF 62" inscription hand signed in black Sharpie at middle, depicts "the Heater from Van Meter" rearing back and about to deliver a pitch as a member of the Cleveland Indians, and carries the original Major League Baseball Authentication "hologram" sticker at the lower left front corner. Bob Feller had an 18 season, Hall of Fame MLB career (with a full 4 year stint in the US Navy during WW2; Feller volunteered on December 9, 1941, and served until August 22, 1945, and holds the distinction of being the first American professional athlete to enlist in the armed forces after Pearl Harbor) as a starting pitcher for the Cleveland Indians from 1936-56. It measures 8" x 10", remains beautifully framed, and the photo itself is a 2005 "Cooperstown Collection" by Photo File. We personally had Mr. Feller sign it during MLB's All-Star Game Weekend "FanFest" when it was held in San Francisco at Moscone Center in 2007. A fine example of a rare, original BOB FELLER HOF 62 CLEVELAND INDIANS AUTOGRAPHED & FRAMED PHOTONow celebrating a quarter century on eBay.
