Original large WW2 Japanese army shell with all attachments present.
Please take note this is not a post war Thai or Indonesian shell with ugly holes drilled around the shell.
The large shell had a shrapnel hole which had been professionally fixed by a local welder many years ago.

Good quality reproduction chinstraps with slightly aged correct gauge steel rings not thin hobby craft shiny rings or the ugly thin Fanny fabric stores'  not canvas strip  (arrow patterned fabric) used here.

My own custom pigskin pads / cowhide reproduction leather liner from very old stock, not easy to come by these days.
Liner has a 1941 issue ink stamp, silk ties, exact liner cloth, exact draw string and cloth pillows with real cotton not modern day polyester cotton used.

The original large shell is very good condition shell I have on hand except for the shrapnel hole which was permanently professional fixed with real steel solder. Then I used my auto body work skill to conceal it. It looks as good as new complete helmet now. You can't tell the difference if I didn't tell you the truth this is a restored helmet.
The shrapnel hole fixed was permanent to the right of the helmet. You can find the fix only from the inside.

I forgot how much time I spent on restoring this helmet to this current state...I lost track of the tender love and care I spent to perfection since I love Japanese helmets so much. This is my only damaged helmet in my entire collection which is only intact shells. My TLC for the finished product must worth something I'd think.

This is an honest realistic listing, not some reproduction items recreated fakes other than the good quality reproduction liners (my best pigskin/ cowhide liner) and full chinstraps (good quality reproduction).

The original damaged large shell is also named so if you like you could probably locate the soldier next of kin in Japan if you want by contacting the appropiate organization in Japan with the help of the US military. I am against Japanese aggression in WWII even though I love Japanese helmets so I don't care much about the deceased  Japanese soldiers , some of them were Chinese from occupied Taiwan.

I have owned this damaged large shell with very good original paint both inside and outside since the late 1990s and held onto it until recently when I decided to finally restore it to a full complete Japanese helmet.

I am not a dealer looking for a quick return on someone's grand daddy's treasure. I spent a lot of time on this helmet and love it originally because it is a very good large shell named.

In my opinion, the paint I used outside matched the original paint which is inside.  If you think you can match the original paint inside , you can pay big $ with a paint shop's computer scan tools. I have tried it and it was expensive and not much difference than my naked eye.

The sale (if the offer is right) would come with my expert help on any questions related to Japanese helmets which I still love and collect. For example how to match the original paint where to buy the paint etc. etc. plus any help on future restorations.
