Vintage 'Heileman's Old Style Lager'

"Grenadier" Statue, Tray, 8" Tall

This beauty is a statue of Heilemans logo/mascot, their three musketeers look alike they call the 'Grenadier', that's been part of their advertising for decades. A nod to the German origins of the family, I suppose. Also Wisconsin saw a lot of German immigrants and that's where Heileman is located. Its' all metal with a green patina finish sprayed on. He's remarkably detailed, as you can see from the pictures. I don't know the age of it, but I'd suggest some time in the 50's to the 70's. This is a 'hard to find' item and so is any information on it. I saw one statue for sale that had been removed from the tray. 

I don't think this was meant to be an ashtray, though it would work as one. Maybe for matches, anything small you'd want on your bar for the customers.
