This is 1 piece blank of Swamp Ash Fraxinus Nigra "Black Ash" with great grain. 2.050 inches thick.  23.0 long and narrowest is 13.25 widest is 15.0. Just rough sawn and kiln dried. Will need finish thickness planing. weathered lines from initial drying will sand out.  Slight bow at the center of the blank but with over 2.0 thickness it should not be a problem to plane out.  The burgandy guitar is an example of one made form this lot of wood and the finished body was 5.5 pounds on that one at full thicker strat profile. Kiln dried. Great wood that is now sadly on endangered status soon to be gone because of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation. Get it while you can! From Wikipedia: Black ash commonly occurs in swamps,[5] often with the closely related green ash. Its fall foliage is yellow. Black ash is one of the first trees to lose its leaves in the fall. It is very closely related to Manchurian ash, and will easily hybridize with it. Some consider the two to be geographic isolates of each other.[citation needed] The species was considered abundant and its survival of little concern prior to the invasion of the emerald ash borer, first detected in North America in 2002. However, since that time this invasive insect has spread throughout most of the tree's range, and within a few years black ash is expected to be all but extirpated; a similar fate awaits green ash. In 2014, a U.S. Forest Service agent estimated that "ninety-nine percent of the ashes in North America are probably going to die." Blue ash and white ash are only slightly less affected.
