A very beautiful Irish oil on panel from the 19th century depicting a young boy with one shoe off seated in a chair with some text books beside him. hes likely contemplating his homework. The painting is unsigned but of a very fine quality and is ascribed verso to Erskine Nicol but we cannot be certain of this.
