The quilt has no odors, but it is dirty: it needs to be washed by the next owners.

There is a cluster of small holes near the center, seen from a distance on pic # 4, then a close range on pic # 5. Those holes might have been caused by cigar ash, but the quilt does not have any smells, and certainly not tabacco.

That is, in our opinion, the worst flaw. There are 2 clusters of small rips on the right side (no lost material) seen on pic # 6, and one small hole on the border on that same area, pic # 7. There are stains, one of them on a block, seen on pic # 23.

The binding has frayed all around and it is close to be useless: it will need to be replaced or covered up.

On the bottom of pic # 1 you see a patch: pic # 2 is the close-up. It seems to be duck tape. It is very likely covering up a rip or a hole. There is a similar patch on the backing.

This quilt was washed many times by previous owners: it is a still nice well  used quilt.

It measures 81" by 63" and weighs 3 1/2 lb. unboxed; the bed in the photos is a queen, 80" by 60".

The piecing and quilting were done by hand.

The batting is cotton.

To us, this seems a farm-made, and farm-used, quilt.
