antique porcelain Peter Herold (1879-1920) voor Royal Copenhagen Polychroom Owl

Number 1331.

Marked Bottom and signed on the base

This large bird is a spectacular and rare piece. It is a particularly nice and older version of Peter Herold's 1911 design.

The figurine shows a long eared owl perched with a piercing stare. The owl's wings are tucked as it surveys out to its left, its head turned 90 degrees. The owl perches atop a base of pine needles and pine cones, as if the bird of prey sits on a branch or tree top.

This is a large figurine measuring approximately 14 3/4 inches tall.

The figuring is in excellent condition. There is no apparent damage -- no chips cracks or repair.
