One-of-a-kind mid-century glazed ceramic elephant calf. 
Made in Dundas, Ontario by McMaster Craft, in a fashion very similar to the glazing processes used by Blue Mountain pottery.

It was manufactured sometime between 1950 and 1988. Made of red clay. 
The glaze has a high-gloss finish, rich in brown and yellow pigments.

McMaster/McMaster Craft - Dundas, Ontario started in 1938 by Harry Jay McMaster, a native of Pennsylvania (USA) who had immigrated to Canada and was initially involved with Sovereign Potters, Hamilton, Ontario.

The business was continued by son, Robert. Robert McMaster died in 1987 and the business closed in 1988.

In excellent mint vintage condition.
