Antique Very Rare Design Solid Silver Albert Pocket Watch Chain
This has a Graduated chain, with the chain links 'gradually' changing in size
Graduation is common, but always with bigger links in the middle
This unique chain has smaller links roughly in the middle
With the links getting bigger towards either end???
And the T-Bar and Clasp have been permanently attached by a skilled Silversmith
Not the usual 'open' link rings used to attach these parts
Hallmarked on the T-Bar by Henry Pope 'H.P' of Birmingham in 1931 'G'
Weighs  37.2 grams  1.33 ounces
35.5cm  14"  Long
The biggest chain links are  0.95cm wide
Complete with the T-Bar and Dog Clip Clasp - fully working
The Clasp is Hallmarked 'S.S' for Genuine Solid Sterling Silver
It must have cost a lot of money to pay a Silversmith to make this strange chain
I don't know if we will ever know exactly why such a strange design was requested and crafted
Originally all the links were Stamped with the Lion Passant of British Solid Silver
But these have now all but worn smooth over time and use
In good Antique condition
