Here we have a genuine Antique Black Lacquered Tea Caddy Base, made in England probably around the half of the 19th Century.

A stunning Papier Mâché Tea Caddy depicting floral design inlaid with Mother of Pearl, and complemented with lovely gold gilding and scalloped shaped edges. It has NO LID / TOP Part.

Could be an ideal Trinket Case / Jewellery Box / Collectable Feature Display Upcycling Project.

This tea caddy has two lidded compartments at the sides, with Mother of Pearl Knob in the shape of a Flower. The circular compartment in the center is lined in red velvet. It comes as found with a Glass / Crystal Bowl, probably Not Original to it.

It is raised on 4 Ornate feet.

The Part of the Lock present is stamped VR with a Crown for Victoria Regina.

In overall good solid conditions commensurate with age.

Marks and scuffs here and there. No Woodworms.

The Glass vase has large chips on the base, not visible when into its slot.

Approx Measures: 36,8cm by 22,6cm at the widest points of the base’s feet, 12,6cm tall.

Approx Weight Unpacked : 1,8 Kilograms
