Antique French sterling silver Aesthetic Movement set comprising of 4 exquisite hors d'oeuvre or dessert servers. The set includes beautifully engraved 3-tine fork, sugar tongs, round spoon, and flat server. Enhanced in gilt vermeil finish. Lovely country / pastoral theme to the engraved scenes, the motifs illustrating a Dutch windmill beside a pond or lake accented with insects and various flowers. Decorated with twisted handles tipped with open crown shaped finials. Each piece is hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark indicating a silver content of .950/1000. Bearing maker’s mark of the highly regarded silversmiths Tallois and Mayence, active 1880-1907 at 19 Boulevard de Strasburg, Paris. Tallois and Mayence was a partnership between silversmiths Paul Tallois and Louis Mayence. Lovely set, housed in the original presentation box labeled for Tallois & Mayence. In overall good condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. Total silver weight is 79 grams. Measurements: Spoon - 4 3/4", Sugar tongs - 4 1/8", Fork - 4 3/4", Flat server - 4 5/8". Box measures 6 5/8" x 7 1/8" x 1 1/8" height.
