Two classic novels in one volume, written by Captain Marryat and published by George Routledge.  Peter Simple is  about a sailor during the Napoleonic Wars.  Jacob Faithful is about a waterman on the River Thames.  Undated.

Vintage book, in good condition but not pristine.  Pages are clean and tidy.  Covers are noticeably worn around the edges, with scratches and scuffs, as shown.  The front cover appears to have suffered a water spillage in the distant past - the cardboard is uneven near the bottom of the front cover, and the paper is not stuck firmly down. A sturdy and readable book, but definitely showing its age.
