Wedgwood first produced lustre wares in the early 19th century and production only lasted a few years. It was reintroduced later in the century but was never a mainstream line for Wedgwood and pieces are consequently rare. This covered muffin dish measures 23cm in diameter and is 13cm to the top of the handle. It is marked with the impressed WEDGWOOD mark and the code 3UI. It is also marked with retailer's Phillips Ltd 43-44 Bond St London. Phillips operated from that address between 1908 and 1929 and the pieces will date to that period. Please note that the colours in the photos vary due to the light conditions. I feel that the photos from above are closest to the colour in daylight.

The dish is in good condition apart from a minor chip to the foot rim. Unfortunately the handle on the lid has  been re-glued as arrowed in the photos. I can find no further faults. Please study the photos carefully to satisfy yourself with the condition of the pieces.

If, like me, you enjoy searching eBay for hidden treasures, you may enjoy my novel (see my AboutMe). Mr Prendergast's Fantastic Find is a light hearted comedy about what happens when a keen eBayer discovers two priceless antique vases on eBay.It has plenty of great reviews and is available to download on Kindle for less than a pound.
