It seems that even the horses were well dressed during Queen Victoria’s era. They wore beautiful domed glass on brass decorative rosettes on their bridles. And then, one day, someone must have looked at these and said 'Hey wait a minute!...that would look better on my riding jacket!'. And so these rosettes were removed from the horses who didn't mind because they got carrots as payment.

This antique rosette features three racing horses in a photo finish (looked just like this as we watched the Kentucky Derby the other day).

The glass domed horse racing graphic is set in a brass frame with a perfectly aged patina. It measures 1 3/4 inches across by 3/4 inch high (deep). The back has been fitted with a secure rollover clasp pin.

This circa 1890s shows some wear overall. As pictured. If you wear it to a horse race event and get looks from the horses, it's just admiration. But have a carrot in your pocket just in case.

As pictured. This piece will have light wear. Most silver pieces have patina. Please do see all photos for the size and best representation of condition. Satisfaction and authenticity 100% guaranteed.
