Yet another tale of woe from the Shine household. This 1965 Jazz Bass was stripped, modified for a different pickup, and has had what looks like a dozen different pickguards on it. Otherwise, has scratches, scrapes, dents, dings, and wear.

The good news is the body is still full thickness, 1.60". The body was chemically stripped, so it retains the factory shaping. And 99% of the mods fall under the pickguard. Only two extra thumbrest holes fall outside of it. Body is alder and is a modest 4 pounds 6 ounces on my postal scale. Has the older style sexy smooth contouring. Before CBS labor cuts reduced the amount of attention and the body started getting chunky.

Includes 2 original brass shields, one for the controls route and one for the bridge pickup route. And includes a new reproduction celluloid tortoise pickguard with wide bevel.

This body is great bones and is ideal for that butchered Jazz Bass that needs a proper body. Any actual luthier can have it patched with minimal effort.

Because of the nature of the mods and such, it is sold as is.
