Alois Brommer, *16. May 1878 Vienna, † 28. December 1968 Vienna 9, Wasagasse 6, physicist.

Was initially active in teaching (Brno, from 1910 Vienna, Franz-Joseph-Gymnasium, 1920 its director), in 1922 state school inspector.

He received a teaching position in physics methodology (for teacher candidates) at the University of Vienna, worked as a lecturer at the Pedagogical Institute of the City of Vienna and in this capacity edited the "Writings of the Pedagogical Institute" (16 volumes) from 1935 to 1938 in his own publications He specialized in research into airborne electricity and atomic energy.

Brommer was a full member of the Catholic Academy and became deputy board member of the men's choir in 1931.

Forced to retire in 1938 and stripped of all honorary positions, in 1945 he took over the position of board member of the Vienna Men's Singing Association (which he helped to rebuild and became its honorary president) and was also a member of the board of the Singing Club of the Society of Music Friends. Medal of Honor 1958.
