Victorian Novelty Gilt & Polished Bronze Hunting Hare Inkwell c.1880

This is a very fine Victorian period gilt & polished bronze novelty inkwell in the form of a hare with a flintlock rifle, circa 1880. The head opens to reveal the original cut glass liner. It is a beautiful & rare object, the only other examples I can find are priced in the thousands of pounds for exactly the same model.
