"THE TANGERINE ZOO- OUTSIDE LOOKING IN"

1968 Mainstream S/6116 label

The condition of the cover is a strong EX with just a hint of wear (see photos), no cut-outs, seam splits or writing.  The condition of the disc is a beautiful M- and it plays great!

I prefer this second Tangerine Zoo album over their debut. Their S/T first LP is also a very good totality but this second is even better. Both of the albums are highly consistent but somehow I find this second album to be stronger. The album includes fantastic songs like for example "Confusion", "You I Love" and the trippy nine minutes long closing track "Young Dream". I can fairly say that I enjoy all of the songs on this album.

Their sound is more keyboard driven than in their first studio album. This one also includes a little less guitar because the focus is now more on the organ/keyboard work. I'll rate The Tangerine Zoo's second and last album with 4,5 stars. Really good work by this sadly forgotten band. Definitely worth checking out if psychedelic rock is your thing.

One of the rarest and most difficult to find psych albums on a legendary Mainstream psych/garage label (which also included Big Brother and the Holding Co.;  Jelly Bean Bandits; Growing Concern; Stone Circus; Amboy Dukes and many others in their roster), this was the one of only two album by this obscure Boston-based psych band.
