Product Description
Brand new water pump bushing. I believe this is the front bushing and the GM part number is 494952. I'm also thinking that GM replaced the 494952 part number with new number 498009.498009 fits:
- 1933 - 1936 Pontiac EIGHT
- 1935 - 1936 Pontiac SIX
Not sure if this is NOS or aftermarket, since it had no original packaging.
Dimensions (taken with vernier calipers, so could be off a couple thousandths) are:
- OD - .751"
- ID - .486"
- Length - 1.123"
Came out of a Buick dealership that opened in 1909, and closed in 1983. They almost never sent anything back, and put the small excess "obsolete" parts (like this) into a brown paper bag with either a handwritten tag with the part number or wrote on the bag the GM part number. This type of part was probably stored in a bin, and every few years they'd clean out the bins, and put the excess up into the attic.
What was bad for their bottom line (bad inventory control), was really good for me in 1983. One of the items in the attic was a NOS 1938 grille half...almost started a fistfight at Hershey when I laid it out on the table (with its' original box!).

A few words to make things easier.
1. Combined shipping for multiple auctions is always available, but when the auction is over, you will have to wait until I revise things in my eBay "paperwork" to create just one invoice for all your purchased auctions. And I have to do the revising BEFORE you pay. If auctions are paid separately (i.e. before you receive my invoice combining items), eBay will no longer then let me combine them on one invoice. AND, eBay then automatically charges you separate shipping charges for each item, which is not refunded. Again, this is eBay's set-up. Combining auctions benefits you by saving you shipping and handling fees.
2. Payment is expected within 3 days. After 8 days, I will file with eBay to have my auction fees refunded. If there is a problem with 3 days, please let me know, as I am not unreasonable, and I know that things happen. Just be aware that having been on eBay full-time for several years has already afforded me an opportunity to hear a lot of "creative" stories.
