Yummy Set of 7 x hand made 

lamp work glass beads 

These hand made lamp work glass beads were created using a metal mandrel and glass rods.  The rods are melted over an open flame, and the molten glass is shaped around the mandrel and repeatedly heated until the desired shape is achieved.  Long thin glass sticks are used to create the patterns and flowers on and in the bead.  Sometimes the beads are covered in a coating clear glass to create a different look.

I have yet to master the art of creating perfect beads - iso all my sets are perfectly imperfect! 

Some of the beads may need light sanding to smooth the edges, and some could do with a little inner cleaning to remove any traces of clay (used on the mandrel rod to stop the glass sticking to the metal)
