For auction is an original photo postcard of a WW1 German soldier in a trench on the Russian Front in 1917, standing in front of a periscope with a whistle hanging from it. He is armed with stick grenades and a Gewehr 98 Mauser rifle.
The back is very nicely filled out, including a stamp from his Regiment, Landsturm Infanterie Regiment Nr.11.
Naturally, the transparent "wimilitariacollector" is not on the actual photo. The card measures 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.
