Egg coddling might sound a little old fashioned… but it makes a tasty treat for breakfast or lunch with many recipe variations, which can be found easily on the internet. The Royal Worcester porcelain coddlers with chrome plated lids are clean and ready for use. Also pretty enough for display when not in use.
Lightly butter the inside of the cup and break egg into it. Add butter salt and pepper to season. Screw on the lid. Stand egg coddler up to its neck in boiling water and simmer for 7-8 minutes until egg is firm. Remove using the ring - remove lid and serve.
