*PLEASE SEE MY LISTINGS FOR MORE FASHION PLATES *

An extremely rare and charming hand coloured fashion plate from ' La Belle Assemblee', published by John Bell from 1806 right into the Victorian era. During the second decade of the 19th century, the Belle Assemblee plates were of the highest quality,  when 'Mrs Bell', of Charlotte Street, was the main designer. Her relationship to the publisher remains unclear.  This plate is from the January 1813 edition, showing a Winter Walking Dress. This green, yellow and blue is different from the usual colouring of this print, which is blue and pint. Also, unusually, the engraver is given as William Hopwood.

Please note that I have been an extensive collector of old and unusual books, prints and other ephemera over many years. However, it is now time to downsize, so all the items I sell come from my own, private collection. I am a private seller on Ebay, just hoping to pass on my items to other collectors who will appreciate them. Would international buyers please note that I do not list every item on international sites for reasons of economy. However, if you click on my listings you will be able to see everything that is currently being offered.
