For sale today we have this superb and seldom seen pottery plaque "St George 1" by the Compton Potters' Art Guild. A gorgeous piece of Arts & Crafts pottery to a design by Mary Seton Watts. Features St George standing on top of the vanquished Dragon, a very large English flag fluttering behind him with a gilt finished messenger angel standing in the palm of his hand. Compton potters mark verso, along with various labels. Missing it's hanging loop. 8" x 4 3/4".
In very good condition, just some age appropriate paint wear as is expected with these unfired tempera decorated pieces.
