This is a genuine 2014 Fender 60th Anniversary American Stratocaster pickup set from said model in excellent condition. There's a lot of confusion about these pickups and I will try my best to clear some of that up. All of the American Standard Strats that came out in 2014 had a 60th Anniversary neck plate, however that does not make them all the 60th Anniversary American model, they are still just your regular American Standard Strat model. Those models, were from the mid-model refresh from 2012-2016 which came with Custom Shop Fat 50s pickups, while the initial series line 2008-2011 had the old school plastic bobbin American Series Delta Tone pickups that were the same in the precious American Series Strat from 2000-2007 (and a variation of the originals from around 1987). These pickups are not either of those models. The second part of confusion is that the 60th Anniversary pickups were basically a flavor of the Custom Shop '54 Strat pickups, which are kind of like the CS Fat 50s in both construction, magnet wire and vintage staggered beveled Alnico 5 pole magnets, with slightly different output specs.

These pickups however were another variation that came on this same 60th Anniversary American Strat model and while they have a "60" marking on the bottom of their bobbins, they are almost identical in specs to the Fender American Vintage '56 Strat pickups. I have no idea why this was the case and I'm guessing this was an inventory issue at Fender, or it was just some weird mistake they made, neither of which would surprise me. This does however make these a lot more rare and unique than what usually came out of that model.

All that being said, the main difference between the American Vintage '56 and Fat 50s/'54 pickups is the use of Alnico 3 magnets instead of Alnico 5, so the top end is more mellow. All things being equal, Alnico 3 is also a weaker magnet than Alnico 5 which is roughly 500-600 gauss vs 1100-1200 gauss reading respectively. But don't let that dissuade you, these pickups are really awesome and I became a big fan of Alnico 3 magnets once I put a '56 set in mine and they're still in there today.

Other spec wise, these all read around 6.0k/2.5h and are essentially the same identical pickup in each position with no RWRP middle. These also are not beveled on the pole magnets and have a modern stagger where the G string pole is lowered since most players don't use a wound G string today and it doesn't need to be as high as it was when wound G strings were the predominate string. The rest of the construction with fiber bobbins, 42 gauge heavy formvar magnet wire and push back vintage cloth lead wire is just like the Fat 50s and '54.

White covers, mounting screws and tubing also included!
