You are looking at a French Art Deco Modern era appetizer or cocktail pick set. The wooden holder has a red bakelite cup that holds 6 cocktail picks. These have red cherry color balls. The figure represents a very excited duck made of chrome metal. It is marked Made in France H.P. Déposé.

The holder is 3 3/8" by 1 9/16" at the base and measures 2 3/4" tall without picks. These are 3 1/4" long. 

Overall condition is excellent. No chips or cracks. Metal parts are in great condition.  Very clean and ready for display or use. Guaranteed bakelite and tested!
