Here is a nice original example of this desirable prewar Lionel standard gauge loco! Includes 4-4-4 #400E Loco and 12-wheel #400W Tender, both in the desirable and tough to find late nickel gunmetal colors. Both are all original with no touchup or repaint ever. This is a very original pair. The loco has all original components, as seen, down to the original wheels. The original frame has stretched some as seen, and shows some fatigue. It is solid and does not appear to have any damage. The original steam chests show some light fatigue as well. The boiler front does not fit perfect as a result of the stretched frame, and the latch is missing. The top knobs on one set of air tanks have broke off as seen. The original drive wheels have some cracks and chips, and would need to be replaced in order to run the loco. The original paint is fantastic, bright and clean showing very little wear with only a couple small nicks! The tender is gorgeous as well, showing very little wear with only a couple small nicks. The whistle is intact inside, and it is correctly stamped underneath. It is bright and clean and displays great! All other trim is intact on both. Please examine photos as they are the best description. Beautiful example of this desirable pair, no reserve!
