I found this sculpture in a barn. With a little research online I discovered that it is very similar to an Italian Grand Tour Bronze bust of Dantes, circa 1880 listed on two auction sites for close to $3,000. According to the auction sites the bronze is most likely Florentine and, again, is a depiction of Dante Aligheri, 13th century Italian poet and author of “the Divine Comedy”.

Condition: Originally this appears to have been sitting on a marble plinth. All I found was the head! I have not attempted to clean this item. Please look at the photos and ask questions. I am not an art expert so I cannot make any guarantees as to its origin. Please do your own research. Again, this was found in a barn buried in a pile of junk. Who knows?  It roughly measures 17” across, 13” high, 8” deep. It weighs about 15 lbs. so I am charing $20 to ship. Thanks for looking!
