Here we have a beautiful vintage Gibson Les Paul Standard electric guitar. Made in the USA in 1979.  Norlin era Gibson.  The Les Paul Standard is one of most iconic guitars in all of history.   This one came from the original owner.   It has been played, loved, and well cared for.   It features a non pancake Mahogany body with a 3- piece Maple neck and a 22- fret Rosewood fingerboard.  It has had the typical changed tuners to Grover Rotomatics, metal jack plate, Schaller strap buttons, and the bridge has been replaced with a new Nashville style in Chrome.  (Originals not included) The pickups are the original Patent number stamped humbuckers and all electronics are original and in great shape.  Weight is 10lbs 3oz.  The guitar comes with its original hardshell case and hang tag.  The case is in good shape with all latches and hinges working nicely.  The handle has been replaced with a leather style handle.  No odors or smell.

This guitar has just been setup with 10-46's and is playing great.  The neck is nice and straight and the truss rod is working perfectly.  The frets have been leveled and are on the low side.  Let's face it, they were low to begin with when they were new.   The guitar plays very well the way it is but could benefit from a fret job if you are not a fan of low frets.

Cosmetically, the guitar is in very good condition.  There is some finish wear on the back of the neck on the treble side around the 4th/5th fret and on the bass side from the 5th to the 11th fret.  Very smooth to the touch.  The back of the guitar has some belt buckle but it is not terrible.  It has a few dings and dents along the bottom sides. There are a few small indents on the top on the bass side. Overall, the guitar still has a nice gloss look to it.    A fine example of a Norlin era Les Paul that has ben played and cared for.   Thanks for looking and happy buying!
