The lot comprises Qty. 8 diecast metal model aircraft manufactured by Dinky Toys (Meccano, England), plus one other English-made model aircraft from an unidentified maker.  The models are of ‘small format’.  

Of the Dinky Toys, 4 are designed for military use and 4 for commercial operations.  The models are:

Military models

(a) 62b Medium Bomber. Overall silver. No roundels. Twin engines, no ,props in situ. One tail-plane missing.  Length 58mm. Span 77mm.  Playworn.                        

(b) 739 (ex 70b) ‘Tempest II’ Fighter.  Overall silver, with R.A.F. roundels on top wing surfaces. Non-blued canopy.  One blade missing from original 4-blade propeller. Length 63m, span 64mm.  Lightly scuffed.     

(c) 70e 732) Gloster ‘Meteor’ twin-engined low-wing monoplane jet Fighter. Playworn. Length 65mm. Span 68mm           

(d) 735 Gloster ‘Javelin’ delta-wing Fighter. R.A.F camouflage finish. Roundels partially worn. Otherwise good condition. Length 94mm. Span 82mm         

Civilian models

(e)  62m Airspeed ‘Envoy’ twin-engined monoplane, issued 1945-1948 as ‘Light Transport’  2 x 2-blade propellers, Top surfaces over-painted matt grey without markings.  Under-side good with undercarriage wheels intact.  Length 61mm. Wing span 90mm.     

(f) 63b Seaplane.  4-engined high-wing monoplane, overall silver, lettered G-AVKW on tip wing surfaces. Propeller glades intact.  Tail-plane intact.  Lacks floats.  Post-war issue without gliding hole. Generally scruffy.  Length 65mm.  Span 100mm.        

(g) 715 Bristol ‘173’ twin-rotor Helicopter/ Turquoise fuselage with horizontal red band and red rotor blades. Registration letters G-AUXR. One rotor blade missing. Fuselage in good condition. Length 88mm. Spam wth blades 70mm.

Unidentified maker

‘Made in England’. Supermarine Spitfire II. Very simple casting, lacks propeller, one tail-plane missing.
