Shippo Yaki, the Japanese expression for cloisonné, is a highly developed art product which is completely handmade by skilled artisans. Shippo is made through the repeated process of glazing beautiful water glass on precious metals using intense heat.

The term “Shippo” come from a Buddhist sutra. The name means “Seven Heavenly Treasures” which are gold silver, emerald, coral, agate, pearl and crystal. Because of the glittering beauty comparable to these precious metals and stones, it is called “Shippo”
