This is a vintage mid century MCM Kromex tea canister. It is made of aluminum and the lid is black plastic with an aluminum knob. The knob has a dent in one side. See the last photo. Otherwise, the canister is in nice condition. The canister stands 5 1/2 inches tall with the lid on and it measures about 4 1/2 inches in diameter. Let me know if you have any questions.
