Crewelwork Curtains
Cream, with multicoloured hand-embroidery

Stunning hand-embroidered fabric from Kashmir, crewelwork is, even today, traditionally made and each roll of fabric is unique. The patterns are typically bold florals & fauna. This particular pattern is a heavily embroidered form of the 'Tree of Life' motif. The embroidery is in four-ply wool on a cream cotton background. 

Due to the labour intensive nature of manufacturing this fabric, it is difficult to find. Our crewelwork fabrics are sourced directly from the families that manufacture them, and part of the proceeds from the sale go towards ensuring that the tradition carries on.

~ Size of each curtain ~
The curtain measures 49" wide x 116" drop (1.2m wide x 2.95m long). These are the ungathered measurements of each panel. Each curtain is made up of 1 fabric width.

NEW, unused curtains
Professionally made, extensively hand-sewn
Curtains are lined with blanket interlining & cream cotton sateen linings (NOT BLACKOUT, but quite thick)
Very expensive main fabric, 7m of fabric in this pair
Pencil pleat headers, 3" deep, with woven pockets
Weighted hems for better drape
The curtains are quite heavy and will require robust wall fixings/pole to hang up.

Tieback shown in photos is not included.

Crewelwork fabrics may have faint inking lines in places of where the pattern was transferred onto the fabric during manufacturing.
