Mirtala Bentov ( 1929 - ), sculptor and poet, was born in Kharkov, USSR ( Ukraine ), studied
in Paris with Zadkine and later in the USA at Tufts University.. She lives in Massachusetts. She
has exhibited widely and her work has been collected by many institutions. ( The brief biography
is from artprice.com ).

This sculpture is 13 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 2 1/4" and weighs 14 pounds. It is signed on the front and
editioned, 3/6, on the back. It is mounted to a burlap-covered board 15 3/8" x 14" x 3/4". Her
name is scratched on the back. It is not dated but was done before she started adding little
figures to her work. My guess is between 1950 and 1970. The sculpture is in excellent
condition. The burlap fabric in worn in two corners.
