This is a rare find, you can get a lot of info on these if you look up “American Vintage Telecaster Fullerton Plant”. 1982-1984 were the years they first started making the first vintage reissues, and renamed them to the AVRI’s after Fender was bought out from CBS and the Fullerton plant was sold. People are mixed about the later years of CBS’ ownership, but it’s one of the best Telecasters I’ve played. The serial number is on the bridge just like the original 52s and shows a low number which leads me to believe it was in one of the first batches.

Full nitro finish on the neck and body, plenty of real wear on the fretboard and fading / chipping where the arm rests on the body. There is a lot of finish checking on it and plenty of dents, scratches, swirl marks etc, it’s a 40 year old guitar after all. There appears to be a black strip at the very bottom of the fretboard too, not sure what it is, or why it’s there. Frets are in perfect condition without any dead or high spots, truss rod is fully functional. Everything is original except the bridge pickup which is a Lindy Fralin Blues Special.

In the last photo there is a spot in the arm rest area with what looks to be dips in the finish. It’s completely smooth, it just looks like someone down the line cleaned it with something they shouldn’t have. It’s not too noticeable, and extremely hard to show in photos.

The few of these for sale are in the 3k-5k range, but looking at historical sale prices and the condition of this, I’m selling it for much less than that with wiggle room on the price.

Please message me for any information / offers / videos etc.

Please note all of the wear is natural and not artificial.
