This is a much washed quilt, but its feed sacks are still in good condition: please check the close-ups posted and judge by yourself.

We found no holes or rips or busted seams in the patchwork; there is wear and damages on the wide brown binding, as seen on a couple of pics. We believe the binding can be fixed (no need to replace it, we think).

The backing is in decent shape.

The quilt has no odors, but it would benefit from a wash by the next owners. Washing this old, hand pieced and quilting quilt must be in a gentle fashion, by hand if possible. If using a machine is unavoidable, then please set it on the gentlest cycle. DO NOT use the drying machine for this quilt: it is 100% cotton and it will probably damage it: please let the quilt drip dry.

It measures 84" by 72" across and weighs 3 1/2 lb. unboxed, in spite of its size: it is a rather thin, light weight "summer" piece.

The fabrics are feed sack scraps; some of the red squares are Turkey red (we posted a couple of close-ups of that fabric); the piecing and quilting were done by hand. The batting is cotton.

On pic # 22 we posted one of the swatches with a ruler, so you can see their size.

The piecing was done by hand, as well as the quilting, which was applied with a density of 7 stitches per inch.
