This boxed figural bar of soap has been a prized possession of mine for a number of decades. A delicate pink box (might they have also made them in baby blue?) Contains a bar of soap molded in the form of a crying baby’s head resting on a pillow. The soap is unused. The box is not in perfect shape, but it is all there. A wonderful inner label states that the “Blessed Baby” was patented Dec. 7th, 1874 by David S. Brown & Co. They manufactured toilet and laundry soap out of New York. One of the company’s buildings exists today in the Tribeca neighborhood, 8 Thomas Street.
