TO ALL AMERICAN AND U.S. BASED
CUSTOMERS: Sadly, shipping cards as Letter Mail is no longer an option, as the
packages are being returned in droves. The post office is insisting that this
mail be shipped as SMALL PACKET. This is an increase from $3.60 Canadian to
$9.60 Canadian, for the exact same service.
For the record, the same mail
ships within Canada for a total of $2.34. You are being taken advantage of, and
you should not stand for it. Write to your post offices and tell them this is
not acceptable.
They will say that it is because
the contents must be paper or paper-like, ie. having the same attributes as
paper. I have spoken to Canada Post, and they say that this means it must be
able to react and function as paper would; be malleable for the machine
rollers, etc. Soft Sleeves and semi-rigid top-loaders fit this bill, making it
a simple cash grab. Don’t stand for it.
