A wonderful and very unusual early Victorian band ring, in solid 18 carat gold, with deeply hand engraved floral decoration that looks a lot like faces or skulls at certain angles.

It's a fabulously slim band, with an understated, tapered presence on the finger, contrasted by the decoration which catches the eye and draws interest. The patina and high detail wear of the centuries serve only to add to its character and stand testament to the life it's lived thus far.

Though it bears no hallmark, it tests well for solid 18 carat gold and is typical in every way of a ring made circa 1845. Probably originally made as a wedding ring, it's also ideal as part of a stack, to add authenticity and a really unusual look!

It's in great condition considering its age, with some wear to the high detail and an old resizing, but no loss or damage. Weighing in at just 1 gram, it's a size 4.5 resizeable a little if needed, is 2.0 mm wide and around 179 years old!
