Rare Old 8X10 image of the US Calvary in front of Gordon’s Stockade following the Horse Meat March or Mud March. They were recovering from running out of supplies and having to eat their horses to survive. The Gordon Stockade was the first habitation in the Black Hills. This image was taken during General Crook’s Expedition against Sitting Bull in 1876 following the Massacre of General Custer and his men.

This vintage photo was originally sold by Clyde O’neals Stamps - Antiques- Pistols which was located in Waco,TX during the 1940’s and 1950’s. Included are a few pics of Clyde to help date the photo. It looks to be printed on a poster board sort of stock like the old photos from the early 1900’s. I am not sure of its exact age.

Please see photos for condition and more details.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.
