Relisted today due to a buyer changing their mind......  Please read description throughly, it is quite long but I have tried to make sure I give you a full understanding of what this is - not hopefully to put you off buying, but to allow you to gauge the work required.  This is a really nice project for the right person and in todays world this sort of money does not buy you very much.  The vast majority of this amplifier has been really well constructed - this is usual in Japan where enthusiasts take a lot of care over their equipment.  Later in its life, someone else has made a few badly executed repairs upgrades but these are mostly reversible (the holes in the cover will take a bit more thought to fix).
Selling only due to having too many unstarted projects awaiting restoration.  See other listings for Solid State Luxkit products - this is the only listing I will be making for a valve product.

Model details: This is the Japan only kit version of the Luxman CL-32 Valve (Tube) Pre-amplifier - manufactured mid to late 1970s.  It is a fantastic project for the right person who enjoys this sort of work and with a little time and effort, the end result will be superb.  In Japan, Luxman in the 70s offered some of their main products in Kit form under the Luxkit brand.  These kits were very high quality and used ALL THE SAME parts as the factory version.  If you Google the photos you will see the boards and parts in the Luxman CL-32 are exactly the same as the Luxkit version.  This is a highly regarded and quite rare in the UK Luxkit version of the Luxman CL-32 called the A3032.  It uses 2 x ECC82 valves and 5 x ECC83.
General Condition:  Most of the amp looks completely original, a bit dirty inside but the modifications made are mainly to a couple of the Power supply capacitors and the volume control.  The incoming mains connection has been cut inside but can be reconnected easily -- this usually cut as a matter of course by shops selling this type of equipment in Japan when they see non standard modifications - forcing the buyer to check everything out before powering it up.  The volume control in this amp uses a 4 gang Alps 250K potentiometer that is very hard to obtain now.  However I am including a new 4 gang 250K Alps potentiometer build up using standard parts from a 4 gang pot and two 250K stereo pots to give you a new ALPS 4 gang version (photo 9).

What's good - this is a highly regarded and quite rare in the UK, compact valve amplifier that is not complex and uses a lot of very high quality parts that are still readily available.  It is advertised at a good price for what you are getting.

What's not so good - at some point a capacitor has been poorly replaced and hard wired.  The original volume control has been replaced with a 2 gang pot and 2 x fixed resistors, it has been poorly installed and is angled in the chassis.  I am including a new part for this volume control.  Also and for a more bizarre reason, someone has cut multiple holes in the top cover (Photo 4).  There are scratches and damage to some of the control knobs that can be repaired id you have patience.  There are some marks on the from panel but nothing disasterous.

I was going to make a wooden case to replace the top cover (common fitment in Japan) but there are several optional fixes for the top cover.

Please note this item has not been plugged in and is completely untested, will require a competent person to check it over before using it.

Please also note that I have the original Kit Instruction in Japanese (around 100 pages with pictures and text - translated to english) and I am happy to include a version with the unit.  This will be an invaluable aid in fixing it.

This is a 100v mains supply Japan model that will require a small step-down transformer to run in the UK.  I use quite a few imported HiFi models from Japan and they all run perfectly from UK mains using a step-down transformer.  A mains lead is included but not shown in the photos.  Selling at a lower cost to reflect the fact that it is a project - you can search and see how much these sell for when rebuilt also they have a superb reputation for sound quality.
The photos are an integral part of the description BUT I am more than happy to provide more photos / detail if required.
Any questions at all, please ask.  Postage quoted is mainland UK only.
