Fender American Vintage 57 Stratocaster Thin Lacquer Black 2004 (2003) 57 Stratocaster Black from the 2004s American Vintage series and Thin Lacquer series. This unit is part of the American Vintage series, an orthodox vintage reissue series that began selling in 1982.It has specs that reproduce the 1957 Stratocaster, and has a black color reminiscent of many Strat players. The specs are faithful to the history of Fender's Stratocaster, including the colored alder body, one-piece maple neck/maple fingerboard, 8-point pickguard, and feather-shaped string guide. The pickup selector is equipped with a 3-way vintage specification genuine parts. In addition, this model is finished with a thinner lacquer coating than usual, making it a particularly popular model in the American Vintage series. In terms of condition, both tone pots have been replaced with 2014s CTS pots. Also, the tremolo bridge has probably been replaced. There are scratches and dents overall that are appropriate for the model year, but the neck is in good condition, the truss rod is OK, over 70% of the frets remain, and the playing surface is in good condition!!
