Obverse: Fine Robust style King standing in ship with upright sword and quartered shield, ropes, beaded circle with Latin legend surrounding: RIC/ARD’x DxxGxx REXxx AnGL’xZx FRAnC’x Dxx hIB’x Zx AQ’

Reverse: Large R at centre of ornamental floriated cross with lis terminals, crowned leopards in angles, all within a beaded and linear tressure, fleurs in spandrels, with Latin legend surrounding:  +IhCxx AVTEmx TRAnSIEnSxx PERxx mEDIVxx ILLORVmxx IBAT

6.8 grams, 32 mm in diameter.

Very well struck for the issue, a little short of flan, however showing a superb fine style portrait, rare as such, a bold good very fine or perhaps better, with a most attractive deep golden tone.
