Offered here is a Newly Reconditioned Pro Quality Leblanc Classic Bb Clarinet. There is good news and bad news about this instrument. This is the story of the ugly duckling which turns into a swan. First the bad news - this instrument was stored for many years in a very dry climate, which caused the wood to be extremely dry. The good news is there is no damage to the wood and it was able to be rehydrated after several days of applying bore oil. Also, since it hadn't been used there are very few signs of wear on the keys. There are a few scratches in the wood, but will have no effect on the playability of the instrument.

I have completely disassembled this clarinet; oiled it extensively inside and out; buffed each of the keys; replaced all of the pad with American sourced, 3 mm, double skin, pressed felt pads; cleaned and lubed all of the rods and pivot screws; reassembled the instrument; play tested it (with my mouthpiece and barrel); and made some final adjustments.

I found this beautiful instrument to play with a rich, warm, slightly more resistant, and more focused tone than my LLs. The response is quick and tone quality very even from top to bottom. The intonation, as with all Leblanc clarinets, is right on the money.

I am a retired music teacher and professional woodwind performer with over 60 years experience. Since my retirement from teaching, I have maintained an active schedule as a performer and have set about to find good quality clarinets (once in a while a flute) in need of repair, which I get back into as good a condition as possible and then get them into the hands of someone who will use and cherish it. These old Leblancs are far superior to all of the new plastic models and to many, if not most, of the more expensive wood models on the market today. Why settle for an inferior plastic clarinet when for less money you can have a beautiful wood instrument? My prices cover my costs (most of the time). I offer instruments which I am proud to sell and you'll be proud to own. One of my favorite reviews here is, "I came as a customer and left as a friend." I stand 100% behind my offerings, so if you are not happy with your purchase for any reason, simply return it for a full refund.
