Vintage Cartier gents watch, “pre-Must tank”, model with a high-grade mechanical manual wind Swiss movement. 

Condition is (vintage pre-owned, with wear).

Watch Description –

BRAND: Cartier.  MODEL: “Pre-must Tank”
COUNTRY OF MANUFACTURE: Switzerland
YEAR OF MANUFACTURE: circa 1975, approximately 49 years

- MOVEMENT: High grade manual wind mechanical movement  (based on  ETA 2512 caliber), 17 jewels. Signed Cartier. Inc Swiss.

The movement was recently serviced by a master watchmaker and me (cleaned, oiled with fine Moebius Swiss oils and adjusted at a timing machine, runs well and keeps time).

This is not a quartz (battery) watch, you will have to manually wind the movement by rotating upwards the side crown, many revolutions until you will feel it stops, rotate it gently.

- DIAL: Original, off white color has a light beige patina from age, it has wear and details more at borders that will be almost hidden by the case closed, vintage with some personality!

Dial is signed: "Must de Cartier, Swiss".

- HANDS: original black sword hands in reasonable good conditions for the age.

- CASE/ MATERIAL: 18k Gold electroplated (20 microns marked between lugs, so not solid gold), it has a few signs of wear at the back, please observe, inscriptions are still legible (Cartier, 18K gold electroplated swiss).

- CASE MEASUREMENT EXCLUDING CROWN: 23mm x 30.5mm

- 23 mm – measures from one side to the other without counting the winding crown (golden knurled crown with a black cabochon in excellent condition).

- 30.5 mm – measures from the tip of the upper lug to the lower.

About the dimensions: the model is known as a gent’s smaller watch (23mm), a vintage European size, don´t assume it is a big watch.

For information, the ladies’ model has 21mm and this 23mm watch can also be used by women.  

CRYSTAL: New crystal.

WRISTBAND: 18mm new black genuine leather strap (no brand) and common buckle (gold plated). It will fit up to a 19cm wrist.

GENDER: Men's Watch for a smaller or thinner wrist, but can be unisex too, it is a European 23mm dress size.
